Tirupati tour package: three ways to go
A Tirupati tour package usually covers the transport, a guide and the sightseeing around the Tirumala temple, while the darshan itself is arranged separately. The three tours on this page start in different cities: a private day trip from Chennai, a private two day trip from Bangalore and a private nine day tour from Trichy (Tiruchirappalli).
All three are private tours. None of them lists a darshan ticket as included. The two shorter tours state that special darshan, VIP or Sheeghra tickets are excluded, so the queue category is your own decision. Read the darshan guide before you choose.

Our picks: Tirupati temple tours
For a single day from Chennai, choose the private trip to Tirupati and Srikalahasti. The two-day tour from Bangalore adds a hotel night, and the nine-day private route is a wider temple journey in which Tirumala is one day.

A day trip from Chennai, two days from Bangalore and a nine day tour from Trichy, with live prices and availability.
Tirupati package from Chennai
The private day trip with Tirupati and Srikalahasti.
The day trip from Chennai is a private tour with an air-conditioned vehicle, hotel pickup and return in Chennai, and an English-speaking guide. Entrance fees for the sights in the programme, bottled water, parking, tolls and driver allowances are included, and so is help with coordinating the temple visit. Chennai city is 134 km from Tirupati according to the district website. The operator of the Sri Kalahasti temple gives about 3 hours for the drive to Tirupati, without allowance for traffic, so ask how the 8 hours are divided before you book.
Darshan tickets are not part of it. The listing excludes darshan, VIP and Sheeghra tickets where the temple authorities charge for them. Srikalahasti is a separate Shiva and Vayu temple on the Swarnamukhi river, not the Tirumala temple; the temples near Tirupati page explains the difference.
Tirupati darshan package
What a tour offers around darshan.
People often look for a Tirupati darshan package that includes the ticket. None of the three tours does. The two day trip from Bangalore includes assistance with darshan arrangements, subject to availability, and the day trip from Chennai includes help with temple coordination. Neither one promises a darshan, a slot or a short wait, and special darshan and VIP tickets are excluded.
The Special Entry Darshan costs 300 INR in the latest TTD release notices and is booked in advance on the official TTD portal or in the TTD app. Sarva Darshan is free. The TTD warns against fake bookings and against people who claim to arrange VIP access, so use the official channel for any ticket. The dress code page covers what to wear in the queue.
Tirumala tours
How the Bangalore and Trichy tours work.
Two days from Bangalore
A private air-conditioned vehicle, one hotel night in Tirupati, daily breakfast, bottled water, an English-speaking guide during temple visits if required, and government taxes. Bangalore is 248 km from Tirupati according to the district website, and the Sri Kalahasti operator gives about 5 hours, without allowance for traffic.
Nine days from Trichy
A private tour of temples and culture in Tamil Nadu with hotel transfers, a live guide, entrance fees to temples and attractions, a Tanjore painting workshop, a walking tour in Madurai and visits to local markets. Tirumala is on day 6. The listing shows "1 day" as a validity period, not as the length of the trip.
Kanchipuram
One stop on the nine day tour.
The nine day tour from Trichy visits Kanchipuram on day 7. For the town itself, the sister site has its own guide: Kanchipuram guide.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Tirupati tour include darshan tickets?
No. The tours include transport, guiding and entrance fees according to each programme, but darshan, VIP and special entry tickets are not part of them. Book darshan with the TTD and read the darshan guide first.
Can I get from Chennai to Tirumala in one day?
A private day trip from Chennai exists and lists 8 hours, though the drive to Tirupati alone is about 3 hours according to a temple operator, without allowance for traffic. Check how the programme is split and how it deals with the darshan queue.
Is it easier to travel on my own?
That depends on your route. Tirupati has an airport, a railway station and road links, and the getting there page explains each. A tour saves planning, while your own trip gives you control over timing.
