Tirumala darshan tickets: the types

Darshan means seeing the deity, and at Tirumala it is organised by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the body that runs the temple. Tirumala darshan tickets are not one product. There is a free line, a paid fast line and a slotted line, and each has its own rules. This site is an independent guide and sells no darshan tickets; everything below tells you how to book with the TTD yourself.

Sarva Darshan is free. Special Entry Darshan (SED, also called Seeghra Darshan) cost 300 INR in the monthly releases announced in October 2026. Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) is a separate category with an assigned time window and should not be mixed up with the paid SED. The price of a ticket is no promise of a short wait or of a fixed total duration.

Tirupati Devasthanam booking and Tirumala darshan booking

Paid darshan and rooms are booked in advance through the official TTD portal or the TTD app, using identity details such as Aadhaar. Book only there and check the address carefully, because look-alike portals exist and are not the temple administration. Read the terms in your booking receipt before you pay. Whether foreign passports, foreign phone numbers and international cards work in the booking flow is something to ask the TTD before you plan around it.

Releases come out month by month. As an example from the release for January 2027, Special Entry tickets opened on 24 October 2026 at 10:00 and accommodation on 24 October 2026 at 15:00. That is an example, not a fixed day of the month, so read the monthly TTD notice for your travel month. Reports about how far ahead you can book disagree, so no number of days is given here.

TTD darshan: slots and sevas

For SSD and SED, the TTD says only the allotted slot counts. Arriving early or late does not earn you another entry time, so plan the climb or the drive with a buffer. Arjitha Sevas such as Suprabhatam, Thomala, Archana and Ashtadala are ritual services that cost money and are allotted by an Electronic Dip. They are a separate route and not the same as a darshan ticket.

Special Entry Darshan

The paid line, with a binding slot.

Special Entry Darshan is booked ahead for 300 INR and tied to a time window. Your slot is binding. The paid ticket does not shorten the day for certain; the queue and the total time vary. Children under 12 need no darshan ticket of their own according to an undated TTD FAQ, but you need proof of age and identity. Do not assume the same applies to sevas.

For cancellations and rebooking, do not rely on hearsay. Read the conditions printed on your booking receipt.

Darshan timings, without a fixed opening time

A single opening time would mislead. Darshan hours change with the weekday and with the ritual programme, and festival days alter them again. Treat any list of hours on a third-party site with caution and look at the current TTD notice.

Waiting times are a snapshot

On 31 October 2026 the TTD reported roughly 6 to 8 hours for Sarva Darshan without an SSD token; on 30 October 2026 it was roughly 6 hours. The TTD counted 64,014 darshan visitors on 30 October 2026. These are single-day figures, not a rule and not a capacity.

Tirumala tickets and festivals

During the Navaratri Brahmotsavams from 12 to 20 October 2026, several privileged categories were suspended. In festival weeks allow more time and book early.

Seniors and visitors with disabilities

The TTD offers a special line for people who have completed 65 years, with Aadhaar as proof and only the spouse as companion. Visitors with disabilities need a government certificate. A TTD notice from 5 October 2025 mentions a quota of 1,000 people per day, released about 3 months ahead, with entry in the afternoon at 15:00 and one free laddu. Whether foreign documents are accepted is not described, so ask the TTD in advance.

Privileged access for parents of infants was suspended from 11 to 20 October 2026. That was a time-limited measure.

Beware of middlemen

The TTD warns against fake bookings and supposed VIP agents. Do not pay anyone for a "guaranteed" darshan. The TTD lists an information line on 155257 and a vigilance number, 0877-2263828, both said to be staffed around the clock. Whether the short number works from abroad is open. Before the visit, read the dress code and rules, and see the Tirumala page for what happens around the temple. If you climb on foot, the Alipiri steps have their own token system.

Tirumala darshan tickets: frequently asked questions

Is Sarva Darshan really free?

Yes, the TTD describes Sarva Darshan as free. The wait is long on busy days, and a donation is not a condition for it.

Can I buy a ticket on this website?

No. This is an independent guide, not the TTD and not a booking portal. Tickets are booked on the official TTD portal or in the TTD app.

Is the 300 INR ticket a shortcut?

It is a paid Special Entry with a fixed slot. It does not promise a short wait, so plan time on the day.

What if I miss my slot?

The TTD states that only the allotted slot is valid, with no earlier or later entry. Check your receipt for the conditions.
